Working on the homestead.

I totally put this up myself!!! We just needed an american flag on the front porch.
So this is what I mean when I say my yard needs some work...Most of it is dirt hahaha...My pups passed out after a rough round of fetch lol.

When we took our first step to renovating the backyard by chopping down two trees, this happened...a Heart shapedpeice of trunk. I decided it just HAD to be garden decor...for my ..uh..FUTURE garden. It's a start right?!

Remember the barn hook from my flea market post? Well here it is all dolled up, fastened to the back of my home, and adorned by this lovely hanging basket. YUM

And the iron basket from the same post is now perched on my front porch as a planter with a lovely rusty sunflower poked in.

And another hanging basket on the front porch...Looking up i think!

Spring is here

Spring is here and all around my yard things are blooming. This is my first house and it is wonderful. My husband and I actually bought it from a friend's parents who flipped it. They did a great job, the inside of my home is gorgeous. And I am happy with it. But I am an outside girl, and my yard is rough. It really needs some work. Especially if my lab keeps digging up the yard haha. But here are some of the blooms and progress.

Mini lilac blooms. SO CUTE!!!

My hostas in my front yard are slow growers because I have no sun in my front yard lol. Keep watching to see what we do with the yard I will have to put up a before pic...

Flea Market finds for $20

I went to my favorite flea market again....And went with only $20.00!!! So what did I get for the money??
Well first I found this Horse shoe for Goodluck over my doorway for $3.00
Next I got this Rod iron basket for $7.oo. Very heavy and substantial... I cant wait to show you what I am going to do with it.

For a dollar this set of 12 wooden napkin rings, so quaint. Doesnt it just make you want to throw a dinner woodsy party, or dress up a barbeque!

The pishnut board is a childhood memory purchase ,Ahhhh nostalgia,...at the daycare I went to as a child ( at the house that I live in now coincidentally it was for sale when I was buying my first home) we used to play this board game all the time. I payed $2.00 and have no idea what I will do with it. And this Adorable little white table was the purchase of the day for $5.00!!!!! The mini flag and flag pole was from goodwill (not included in the budget) And proped up on the basket is a barn saddle hook that was $2.oo I love all the purchases. Stay tuned for the makeovers.

My mother had this wind chime and was going to throw it away. It was broken on one side. So i took it home and repainted it and you cant even tell. It makes the prettiest noise!!!
